Abstract: The ring-opening polymerization of trimethylene carbonate(TMC) catalyzed by the immobilized porcine pancreas lipase on silica nanoparticles(IMPPL) was explored. The influences of IMPPL concentration and reaction temperature as well as reaction time on the molecular weight and yield of PTMC were studied. The ring-opening polymerization of TMC using the recycling IMPPL and the degradation of PTMC in the presence of IMPPL were also investigated. The experimental data showed that this IMPPL could not only catalyze the ring-opening polymerization of TMC at 60—100 ℃ efficiently, but also catalyze the degradation of PTMC at relatively high temperatures. The recycling IMPPL showed better catalytic activity and could be used repeatedly.
