Abstract: A synthetic method of porphyrins bonded with salicylic substituents was described. Reaction of bromoalkoxyphenyl porphyrin(1) with salicylic acid gave free porphyrins 2 and 3. Treatment of porphyrins 2 and 3 with Co(OCOCH3)2 respectively, afforded metalloporphyrins 4 and 5. These new compounds were confirmed by 1H NMR, IR, UV-Vis, MS and elemental analysis, and their interaction with bovine serum albumin(BSA) in fluorescence spectrum was observed.
