Abstract: The functional molecular poly(allylamine)ferrocene was modified on the surface of glassy carbon electrode by the sol-gel technique. The electrochemical behavior of the modified electrode was characterized by cyclic voltammetry in detail. The results obtained show that the modified electrode exhibited an excellent electrocatalytic response to the oxidation of ascorbic acid. The anodic overpotential was reduced by about 190 mVcompared with that obtained at a bare glassy carbon electrode for the oxidation of ascorbic acid. The modified electrode possesses several attractive features, such as simple preparation, fast response and so on.
