Abstract: Electrochemical behavior of Fe(Ⅱ)-EDTAcleaving DNAon hanging mercury drop electrode(HMDE) was studied. It was found that the changes in the DNAstructure due to Fe(Ⅱ)-EDTAbreaking DNAresult in the increasing of a reduction peak current of DNAon HMDE, indicating that the electrochemical methods are hopeful to be used as an auxiliary means for probing changes in the DNAstructure. Furthermore, the standard rate constant of the surface reaction k s was determined as 0.59 s-1.
