Abstract: The effect of FcT[Ferricenium trichloroacetate, bis(trichloroacetic acid)solvate] on the biosynthesis of DNA in EAC cells in vitro was reported in this paper. The experimtal results show that FcT,similar to another anticancer agent titanocene dichloride(TDC),caused a remarkable depression of DNA synthesis activities, and the half-inhibition concentration for FcTis about 1. 0× 10-4mol/L. The irreversible and long-lasting inhibition manner of FcTon DNA biosynthesis indicated that the DNA template was injured by FcT. Meanwhile, the fluorescent quenching of DNA-EB complex by FcT revealed that the DNA duplex might be damaged by FcT.
