Abstract: Aimidazolyl tailed porphyrin,5-[o-(1-imidazolyl) butoxy]phenyl-10,15,20-triphenyl porphyrin(o-ImBPTPP),and its iron(Ⅲ) coordination compound(Fe(Ⅲ)(o-ImBPTPP)Cl) were synthesized and identified by elementary analysis and mass spectrometry. The structures were confirmed by IR、1HNMR and UV-vis spectrometries. The coordinations of Fe(Ⅲ)(o-ImBPTPP) Cl with some nitrogeous ligands were studied.Usually Fe(Ⅲ)(o-ImBPTPP)Cl formed low-spin six-coordinate adducts with nitrogeous, but it could form a stable high-spin five-coordinate adduct with imidazole in benzene when the concentration of imidazole was lower.
