Studies on Grafting Ethyl Acrylate onto Gelatin by SDS-PAGE

Abstract: The grafting mixtures were meatqured by a slab method of sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(SDS-PAGE).It was proved by this test that all ingredients in gelatin(αP,α,β,γ,γp)could be grafted with ethyl acrylate and most gelatin molecules were converted into grafting copolymers whose Mnwas much more than 3×105.This conclusion and the chracterization of grafting percentage or grafting efficiency from the SDS-PAGE patterns were similar to those from usual quantitative analysis in this paper.
