Abstract: In this paper, Y2O3-Nb2O5-B2O3(2), Y0.93Eu0.07)2O3-Nb2O5·B2O3(4) and(Y0.91Eu0.07 Bi0.02)2O3-Nb2O5-B2O3(5)phosphors were prepared by usual solid state reaction at 1200℃. The luminescence properties of these samples with fergusonite structure are reported and discussed. Under 268 nm excitation, Y2O3-Nb2O5-B2O3(2)shows much brighter blueviolet luminescence due to 1T1-1A1 level transition of NbO4 group with a maximum at 410 nm.The B2O3 in the system can reduce the reaction temperature and increase the emission intensity of NbO4 group and Eu3+.The energy transfer from NbO4 to Eu3+and from Bi3+to Eu3+is observed in(Y0.91Eu0.07Bi0.02)2O3-Nb2O5-B2O3(5)phosphor, so that the red emission of Eu3+ is enhanced sensibly.
