Abstract: The catalyzation of cobalt etrakis(4-trimethylaniline) porphyrin and vitamine B12for electrocarboxylation of halobutane with CO2 are studied. The electrocarboxylation in the presence of catalysts can occur at a more positive potential(-1.6Vvs.SCE) than that without catalysts, The products of electrolysis are butyl oxalate(calalyzed by CoTTMAP) and butyl valerate(catalyzed by VB12).The reason of producing different results of electrocarboxylation was researched by means of spectroelectrochemistry.

Key words: Metalloporphyrin, Electrocarboxylation, Vitarnine B12
