Synthesis and Photophysical Properties of Substituted Zinc Phthalocyanines

Abstract: Synthesis and photophysicai properties of some substituted zinc phthalocyanines are described in this paper.It was shown that strong electron-withdrawing(or electron-do-nating)substituents decrease the lifetime and quantum yield of both excited singlet state and excited triplet state owing to the intramolecular ground state charge transfer and photoinduced electron transfer process.Halogen substituents on benzene ring of phthalocyanines lead to the decrease of lifetimes of singlet state and triplet state owing to the heavy atom eftect.
