Synthesis and Anti-tumor Activity of Ebselen and Its Derivatives

Abstract

Abstract: Ebselen is a organoselenium compound.It exhibits anti-tumor oxidant activity similar to that of glutathione-peroxidase(GSH-Px).In this paper, ebselen and its derivatives were synthesized using ortholithation, selenium insertion from benzanilide and its derivatives, and characterized by IR, ₁H NMR,UV,MSspectrum.The results of retarding S,Mascites tumor activity of ebselen is more effective than Na₂SeO₃.
