Abstract: The exchange rates of axially coordinated imidazoles in mono-ligated iron (Ⅲ) and manganese(Ⅲ) complexes of synthetic porphyrins such as tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) and te-tramesitylporphyrin(TMP) were measured by NMRmethod. The exchange rate constants and activated parameters were obtained. Two exchange reaction mechanisms were proposed. The influences of metallic ions and temperature on the exchange rates were compared. These results were explained reasonably. The linear relationship of the kinetic parameters was verified.
