Abstract: The absorption spectroscopy of cyclopentalienyl-cumene iron hexafluorophosphate (Irgacure 261)in four solvents has been studied, the influence of irradiation on Irgacure 261 has been observed. The results show that the initiator can form complexes with acetonitrile and propylene oxide, The kinetics of photolysis of iron-arene complex has been determined, the photolysis reaction of initiator is the first order reaction, the rate constant of photolysis reaction is 0.391 min-1.

Key words: Iron-arene complex, Photoinitiator, Absorption spectroscopy, Photolysis
