Abstract: Five secondary metabolites have been isolated and identified from the alga(caloglossa leprieurii), collected from the Xisha Islands in South China Sea. This alga is a Chinese traditional drug having been used as anthelmintic. Their structures were determined as α-glyceryl-α-mannoside-4-ammonium salt 1, di(amino-carboxy-ethylene)sulfone 2, caulorpin 3, 4, cholestol 5 by spectral analysis. The structures of 1 and 2 are first reported.
