Abstract: Hollow supramolecular nanotubes have been fabricated by the self-assembling of 5-(4-N-methyl-N-tetradecyl aminobenzylidene)-2,4,6 (1H,3H)-pyrimidinetrione(AB1,14) and 4-amino-2, 6-didodecylamino-1,3,5-triazine (M12) in non hydrous chloroform. The nanotubes are 7 nm in diameter and about hundreds of nanometer in length. Their formation was realized by π-π aromatic stacking of the hexamers, which resulted from the interaction of three complementary hydrogen bonds between AB1,14 and M12. X-ray diffraction pattern indicated that the distance between the hexamers is 0.49 nm.
