Abstract: A facile hydrothermal approach to synthesize high quality cysteamine-stabilized CdTe quantum dots(QDs) was presented. By this approach, the quantum yield(QY) of the resultant QDs can reach as high as 19.7%, which is nearly double-fold of those reported by the former researchers. The effects of the variables on the photoluminescence property of as-prepared CdTe QDs were studied, and the pH-dependent optical properties of as-prepared CdTe QDs were also investigated.
