Abstract: Two new complexes, (C9H7NO3)Zn(C3H4N2)2(1) and (C9H7NO3)Ni(C3H4N2)2(C4H5N2O)•CH3OH•0.5H2O(2), with salicylideneglycinyl as the ligands, were synthesized successfully at room temperature in methanol solution, and characterized via elemental analyses, IR spectra, UV-Vis and fluorescence spectra, and X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analyses were also carried out.

Key words: Salicylideneglycinyl ligand, Zn complex, Ni complex, Crystal structure, Non-thermal decomposition kinetics
