Synthesis and Properties of Novel Porphyrin

Abstract: The preparation of a novel porphyrin derivative bearing oligo(p-phenylene) group and its zinc complex was reported, which involved a microwave irradiation and a synthesis based on the template effects, respectively. Both of the porphyrin derivative and its zinc complex were fully characterized through IR, NMR and MALDI-TOF-MS. Optical properties(UV-Vis and fluorescence) was also studied for both compounds according to the spectra analysis, respectively. For zinc complex the thermal stabilities and electrochemistry were studied by TGA and CV. Further fabrication with the zinc complex as a dopant resulted in an electroluminescent device emission at 556 nm.
