Abstract: The magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized by the chemical coprecipitation of ferrous chloride and ferric chloride. The obtained magnetic nanoparticles were coated with double surfactant. The magnetic polymer microspheres were prepared by emulsion polymerization by using styrene and methylacrylic acid as the monomer with the existence of magnetic fluid. TEM, FTIR, XRD, TGA and SQUID were used to characterize the size, component, magnetic percentage and magnetic property of the obtained microspheres. The content of magnetite in microspheres is 23.6%; The average size of magnetic fluid was 10 nm, and that of magnetic microsphere was 130 nm. The magnetic fluid and magnetic microsphere were found to show a superparamagnetic property.
