Abstract: The new fused quinazoline spiro-heterocyclic compounds were synthesized by combining the fused thiazolidone and quinazoline structure with spiro-heterocyclic structure for the purpose to get novel bio-active compounds. Dipolar azomethine ylides reacted with dipolarphile 2-arylmethylene-9-benzylidene-5-phenyl-6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-5H-thiazolo[2,3-b]quinazoline-3-one via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition to give nine fused quinazoline spiro-heterocyclic compounds. The configuration and conformation of the products were determined by elementary analysis, 1H NMR, IR and X-ray crystal analysis. The results also revealed that the reaction was stereospecific.
