Abstract: The effects of molecular structure on the electrochemical properties and the electronic structure of four Os(Ⅱ) complexes have been explored by cyclic voltammetry and fluorescence spectra. The results indicate that the oxidation and reduction properties and the electronic energy level structure of the complexes can be changed by either introducing different substituents into the bipyridine ligand or replacing the bipyridine ligand with phenanthroline. The above conclusion were confirmed by the photospectroscopy measurements.
