Abstract: The relationship between the fluorescences and structrue of the copolymer of styrene and acrylic acid (ST-AA) was investigated in aqueous solution. When the concentration of ST-AAincreased, there exist monomer fluorescence (λex=258nm, λcm=27Onm) and excimer fluorescence(λcm=375 nm).The excimer fluorescence intensities increased with increasing the concentration of ST-AAand with decreasing pHvalues. When trace amount of molybdenum compound[Mo3O2(O2CCH3), (H2O)3].Br2.2H2O, was added into the aqueous solution of ST-AA, the excimer fluorescence intensities were increased
