Abstract: This paper reports the synthesis and NMRstudies of a novel tweezer molecule (2S, 8S)-2- (2-naphthoyl oxymethyl)-8- (2-naphthoyl aminomethyl)-1, 5, 9-triazabicyclo [4.4.O] dec-5-ene chloride. The complexation effect of the tweezer molecule and pnitrobenzoate salts by means of 1HNMRshows that they are self-associated by hydrogen bonding, electrostatic interaction and arene-arene sandwich stacking interaction.

Key words: Tweezer molecule, Organic anion, Molecular recognition
