Abstract: The aggregation state of hematoporphyrin(HP) in aqueous solution and insurfactant aqueous solution has been studied by spectrum analysis. In micellar media thedimerization effect is observed only in anionic sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS).The monomer-dimerequilibrium is shifted toward the monomer side due to a high increase in the rate constant ofthe dimer dissociation than in the dimer formation with the SDSconcentration.Fromapplication of atomic force microscopy the relationship between the morphology variation andmicro structure of HP-SDSand the solution state is discussed.
