Abstract: A polarographic catalytic wave of glycyrrhizic acid(GA) in the presence of KIO3 was observed.Based on the catalytic wave,a new method for the determination of GAwas developed.In0.1 mol/L NaAc-HAc-2×10-3 mol/L KIO3 buffer solution(pH=4.60±0.05),the first derivative peak height of the catalytic wave of GAis proportional to its concentration in the range from 2.0×10-7 to 2.4×10-5 mol/L,The sensitivity of the proposed method is about 20 times higher than that without KIO3.100-fold glucose,200-fold glycine,20-fold cysteine do not interfere in the determination of 4×10-6 mol/L GA,The proposed method was applied to the determination of GAin pharmaceutical Potenlin injection.
