Abstract: Two series of alkylcobalt Schiff base complexes RCo(chel)L(where R=CH3,C2H5, n-C3H7, n-C4H9, i-C4H9; chel=salen and SB; L=py,γ-pic, PPH3)were synthesized and characterized in which RCo(SB)Land five-coordinate C2H5Co(SB) are new coenzyme B12 model compounds. The properties of alkylcobalt complexes in solution and solid were studied. The influence factors on the stabilities of Co-Cbonds of the complexes were discussed.
