Abstract: In this paper, we investigated the calcined process of titanium oxide xerogels, which were prepared in the nonpolar solvents (C6H6, CCl4) by sol-gel method at different heat rate in O2 atmosphere. The phase composition and structure, the particle shape, size and distribution of the derived titanium oxide ultrafine powder were analyzed by differential thermal analysis, thermal gravimetry, FT-IRspectra, X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscope. The possible mechanism of phase transition was given in terms of grain size varing with annealed temperature.
