Abstract: The kinetics of photoinitiated polymerization of cyclohexene oxide (CHO) was studied by using Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC).The photoinitiator is a cyclopentadienyl Cumene iron hexafluorophosphate. It is shown that CHOpolymerization is the first order reaction, the activation energy for CHOis -9.87 kJ/mol.Temperature has a marked influence on the polymerization process of CHO.The maximum Hof CHOwas obtained at 40℃, but the maximum of reaction rate was obtained at 27℃.Hand reaction rate drop sharply at elevated temperatures. The initiation mechanism was disclosed by these observations.
