Luminescence of Tb3+ and Its Sensitization by Ce3+ in Matrix La2Na2Sr6(PO4)6Br2

Abstract

Abstract: The phosphor samples were prepared by high temperature solid state reactions.Pho-toluminescence of Tb³⁺ ions and its sensitization by Ce³⁺ ions were studied systematically.Luminescence of Tb³⁺ excited by UV 254 nm is weak,but can be enhanced by the sensitization of Ce³⁺ ions.The mechanism of energy transfer from Ce³⁺ to Tb³⁺ is of resonance nature caused by dipole-dipole interaction.Efficiency of such energy transfer was calculated.
