Synthesis and Crystal Structure of [Bu4N]2[W2Ag3S8(C6H5CSS)] with Dithiobenzoic Acid as the Ligand

Abstract: The title compound was prepared from the reaction of (NH4)2WS4, AgNO3, (Bu4N)+(C6H5CSS)- and Bu4NBr in CH3CN solution, then crystalized in CH3CN/MeOH.It crystalizes in monoclinic space group P21/c with the following crystal parameters, a =1.8945 (12) nm, b=1.1963(10) nm, c=2.5660(14)nm, β=98.13(5)°, V=5.757(6) nm3, Dc=1.830 g/cm3, Z=4.The final R=0.0827 for 3329 reflections.The W2Ag3 unit in the anion W2Ag3S8(C6H5CSS) forms a five-membered ring.
