Studies on the Response Characteristic of Microwave Induced Plasma Ionization Detector

Abstract: The experimental parameters were examined in detail which affect the response characteristic of the new developed microwave induced plasma ionization detector for gas chromatography.Under optimum conditions,the analytical performance is improved.The sensitivity to benzene is 1.6×10-12 g/mL,and the linear range is 105.The result also shows that the detector is a concentration-type detector,and the main mechanism which makes the sample ionized is photoionization process.
