Kinetic Study of Substitution Reaction of Co2(μ-C2ph2)(CO)6

Abstract: The kinetics of substitution reaction for Co2(μ-C2ph2)(CO)6 with P(OBu)3 and PCy3 in decalin at 55° was studied.It is found that the reactions under the atmosphere of N2 follow two different mechanisms: dissociation and association mechanism,and the reaction rate can be represented by the equation: kobs=k1+k2[L].In addition,the dependence oi lgk2 on the basicity and the size of entering ligands is also discussed.
