Abstract: The preparation of two kinds including six new Co3-carbonyl clusters with chiral tetra-hedral Co3S frameworks, containing bridging heterocyclic thioamide and heterocyclic carbene lig-ands is described. The reaction of Co2(CO)8with heterocyclic thioamides SCXCH2CH2NH(X= NH,S,O) yielded products Co3(CO)73-S)(μ-SCXCH2CH2N)(Ⅰ)and Co3(CO)63-S) (2CXCH2CH2NH) (μ--SCXCH2CH2N) (Ⅱ), in which μ-SCXCH2CH2N is a three-electron bridging ligand linked by Sand Nto two cobalts, and: CXCH2CH2NH is a heterocyclic carbene ligand. These six clusters have been characterized by IR, 1HNMR spectra and MS.
