The Determination of Standard Molar Enthalpies of Formation for Complexes of Rare Earth Isothiocyanates with Dimethylsulfoxide

Abstract

Abstract: The preparation of seven solid complexes of rare earth isothiocyanates with dimethylsulfox-ide(DMSO) was reported. Their chemical formulae were proved to be RE(NCS)₃·5DMSOwhere REis La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd. By means of the thermochemical method, the standard molar enthalpies of formation of these complexes were determined and their lattice energies were calculated.
