Abstract: Anew adsorbent polythioether(PTE) synthesised by us for simultaneously adsorbing and determining all noble metals was represented and studied. The effects of temperature, heating time, acidity, different acid mediums, base metals were investigated intensively.Nearly all base metals did not interfere. The adsorption capacity of PTEfor noble metals was very high (e.g.750 mg Au/g dry adsorbent). The possible mechanism of adsorption was suggested.Areasonable PTEadsorption process followed by ICP-AESmethod for simultaneous determination of all noble metals was represented. The results found in the synthesized samples were satisfactory.
