Abstract: This paper, from the quantitative angle, discusses the interferences, of overlap bands with each other in derivative spectrophotometry. Some theoretical criteria and formulas of error were obtained and demonstrated by the experimental data. By means of theoretical analysis, we selected the third derivative spectra for the determination of uranium (Ⅵ). The interference of Th is limited. The maximum relative error is 11%.
