Abstract: A new copolymer(C) was designed and synthesized. Isothermal Titration Calorimetry(ITC) expe-riments showed the strong binding of C-Zn and the predetermined peptide sequences(DFLAE, appear in many peptides sequence which cumulate in serum of uremic patients). The further ITC experiments demonstrate that the binding is the result of the cooperative effect of coordination and hydrophobic interaction, which may provide further understanding on the mechanism of polymer-metal-peptide interaction and a structural basis for designing the adsorbents for the target peptide.
