Abstract: This paper reports the complexing capacities for metal ions and chromatographic performances of 3-(aza-18-C-6) propyl bonded stationary phase, which were prepared by solid-liquid phase reaction on the surface of porous silica. Effect of the composition and pH value of the mobile phase, adding metal ion to the mobile phase on the retentions of polar disubstituted benzenes are studies. The chromatographic mechanism is explained. The azacrown ether bonded stationary phase to complexation of metal ion could exhibit various chromatographic properties, dipolar, hydrogen bond, electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions contribute in a certain sense to chromatographic separation,so that the separation selectivity and analytical speed for polar disubstituted benzene derivatives are superior to reversed-phase HPLC with ODS stationary phase.
