Abstract: The structures of phenylethanoid glycosides in plant extract from Plantago asiatica were successfully analyzed and identified by electrospray ionization multi\|stage tandem mass spectrometry(ESI-MSn) in the negative ion mode, the fragmentation mechanisms of phenylethanoid glycosides were explored according to some interesting losses. The rapid identification of the phenylethanoid glycosides in plant extract of Plantago asiatica was developed.

Key words: Plantago asiatica L, Phenylethanoid glycosides, Electrospray ionization multi-stage tandem mass spectrometry
