Abstract: The synthesis of n-dodecyltriphenylphosphonium bromide was described and its surface activity in aqueous solution was studied with the fluorescent probe method. Using pyrene as a fluorescent probe based on the relativity between the intensity ratio of the third vibronic band to the first vibronic band in its monomer fluorescence spectrum and the polarity of its environment, the CMC of the newly synthesized surfactant was determined to be 2. 08×10-3moI/L, and the micropolarity of the micellar core was obtained to be 16. 1 (expressed by the dielectric constant).
