Abstract: The PbO2-SPE(Solid Polymer Electrolyte) composite electrode was prepared by hot pressed method. The electrooxidation reactions of 3-picoline at the electrode was studied with the cyclic voltammetric and steady state polarization curves. The relationships between the current density and overpotential and between the overpotential and cell voltage were examined in the different catholyte as well as in the anolytes with or without the liquid supporting electrolyte. The possibility for producing nicotinic acid from 3-picoline at the(electrode) without the supporting electrolyte in the liquid phase was explored. The selectivity and the current (efficiency) under the specific conditions were given.
