Abstract: An amphiphilic bifunctionaLINitiator with an aromatic group, which is used in free radicaLINterfacial copolymerization, p-toluoyl(3-carboxypropionyl)sebacoyl diperoxide(MBSD), was synthesized by the successive condensation of sebacoyl chloride with p-methylperoxybenzoic acid and monoperoxysuccinic acid under the catalysis of pyridine and further characterized by IR, 1HNMR, MS, elemental analysis and the analysis of peroxide oxygen content.

Key words: Amphiphilic bifunctional initiator, Free radical interfacial copolymerization, p-Toluoyl(3-carboxypropionyl)sebacoyl diperoxide
