Abstract: O, O Dialkyl phosphoro(no)thioic acids derivatives are dealkylated with aqueous dimet hylamine to give am monium phosphoro(no)t hioates, which are chlorinated with phospho rus oxychloride to afford phosphoro(no)chloridot hionates.this novel reaction provides a new convenient method for syn The sis of phosphoro(no)chloridot hionates, especially those containing asymmetrical phosphorusatom. The chlorination mechanism is also discussed.

Key words: Ammonium phosphoro(no)thioate, Phosphoro(no)chloridothionate, Chlorination
