Abstract

Abstract: This paper reviews the determination of trace amounts of metal ions and their sep aration by high-performance liquid chromatography-spectrophotometry adopting precolumn derivatization with the emphasis on the investigation of precolumn derivatizing reagents in re cent years.The substituent groups of reagents, auxiliary complexing agents and the mecha nisms of chromatographic retention of metal complexes are discussed.
