Abstract: TPD of oxygen and catalytic activity of oxidation of CO and oxidative coupling of methane on La2-xSrxNiO4were studied. It was shown that two oxygen desorption peaks from two different temperature ranges were related to Ni2+and Ni3+ions in the crystal structure, respectively. The uptake of O2desorbed at a lower temperature increased when the amount of Ni2+increased,while the uptake of O2desorbed at a higher temperature increased with the increase of Ni2+content.The crystal oxygen took part in the reactions of CO oxidation and OCM directly.

Key words: La2-xSrxNiO4, O2-TPD, CO oxidation, Oxidatiye coupling of methane
