Abstract

Abstract: This paper reported the reaction between 3-methylthio-5-hydroxy-1,2,4-triazine (1) and subsitituted benzene sulfochlorides (p-CH₃, p-Br, m-NO₂).The structures of the products were identified as 3-methylthio-4-subsituted benzene sulfonyl-5-oxo-6-hydroxy-1, 4, 5, 6-te-trahydro-1,2,4-triazine by ¹H NMRand ¹³C NMRas well as UV.The analysis results show the compounds proceeded both a substituted benzene monosulfonation to N4 position (not to N2 or C₅-OH) and addition of one molecule H₂Oto-N₁ = C₆- double bond in which the hydroxy group was connected to C₆ position.
