Toughening and Reinforcement of Ductile Polyvinyl Chloride by Rigid Organic Filler

Abstract: The modifications of ductile polyvinyl chloride (e.g.PVC/CPE, PVC/ABS) with rigid organic fillers (abreviation ROF, e.g.PS, PMMA, SAN) were studied.The results show that filling ROFin small amount to ductile PVCmatrix leads apparent improvement of impact strength while tensile strength and modulus increase slightly.These are different from the traditional elastomer-toughening of plastics in regularity and feature.
