Abstract: Copper (Ⅱ) oxide was prepared by aging copper sulphate, copper nitrate, copper chloride and copper acetate at elevated temperature and under controlled pHconditions. The sols with various particle shapes and uniformity were obtained depending on the experimental conditions. The particle size and shape characteristics in each precipitation region were determined by electron microscopy.
