Abstract: The transient response for dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene over ferrosilicate catalyst was studied. On the basis of the results of investigation for the surface adsorptive state of ethylbenzene from IRand EPR,the model of the reaction mechanism was given as follows;styrene was produced by dehydrogenation of activation adsorbed ethylbenzene over the catalyst. The model can be used to explain satisfactorily the transient response curves and kinetic behaviour of the reaction.
