Abstract: The binary and ternary stability constants of Ala-Ln, Glu-Ln and Ala-Glu-Ln(Ala=L-alanine, Glu = L-glutamic acid, Ln=Ce, Pr, Nd, Y) were determined by pHpotentiometric method under the physiological condition(37℃,I = 150 mmol/L NaCl) and carbon dioxide was freed by nitrogen gas. The glass electrode was selected and calibrated by program MAGEC and potentiometric data were treated with MINIQUAD-82A. The compositions of complex species in the equilibrium were ascertained by selection of different chemical models and then the distribution curves were obtained by using program COMPLEX and GRAPHIC. The results show the order of the relative stabilities of the complexes in terms of trivalent metal ions: Ce<Pr<CNd<Y. In addition, the ternary complex may exist in a large pHrange.
